isuzu truck

Isuzu is a Japanese manufacturer of commercial vehicles and diesel engines. Its main venture is the production, marketing, and trade of Isuzu commercial vehicles and diesel engines.

Isuzu Trucks Problems
  • Older models need retrofits and engine upgrades.
  • NPRs have some emission and regen problems. Trucks can break down after long hauls.
  • NPRs 2009 used for sweeping have issues with the DPF. The chassis dies while being used, with no warning. It seems that sweepers don't move with enough speed to keep the DPF system functional. Problems persist even after manual regenerations and periodic cleaning.
  • In an NQR crew cab model with less than 5000 miles on it, the cruise control shut off and the display showed a red exhaust system light. The truck was regularly regenerating without any problems and had plenty of DEF fluid.
  • The anti-lock brake system (ABS) warning light may illuminate due to a damaged wire harness near one or both of the wheel speed sensors.
  • NPR trucks recalled because of a potential unintended acceleration issue. The vehicles have an acceleration pedal that may get stuck under the steel stepper bolt, causing the pedal to remain in the full throttle position and risk causing a crash.
  • 21,000 recalled trucks because the transmission bracket mounting studs could break, affecting the transmission’s ability to shift correctly.
